So, the general idea of this fanfic is that Chara never commits suicide and because of it they are still alive when the other humans come to the Underground.
They still hate humanity, but nevertheless aren't willing to commit suicide as they don't wish to leave their family behind, even if that selfishness means Monsters remain trapped in the Underground.
Then four years into their era the second of the eight humans arrives to the Underground, the one who arrived didn't trust Monsters and had in fact come to confirm whether the first human was dead, the fact that they weren't may be the only reason some peaceful resolution can be attained one day...unlikely, however.

We're writing this all out in a narrative way as a method of processing each of our own individual traumas. Yes, these are genuine, personal memories we have that we're deeply affected by.
