Enid felt herself dissolve. Her shoulders slumped, completely defeated by two brown, bloodshot eyes that blinked up at her. She roughly brushed past Ajax and leaned down to push a strand of hair behind Wednesday’s ear. Wednesday was slow to react, still trying to blink Enid into something she could actually see.
“Let’s go home,” Enid whispered to her, hands on her shoulders.
“Enid,” Wednesday repeated. Finally, she could feel a part of her tongue. She gave it a test bite before speaking. “That was a good brownie.”
Or, Enid convinces Wednesday to attend a Nightshades party with her, Ajax forgets to mention the pot brownies, Enid is very protective of her girlfriend, and Wednesday suffers—well, sort of.

Cars roar with life outside of the parking garage, and Peter can hear the whip of each one passing them by. The morning hasn’t arrived yet; the sun sleeps but will awake soon. Peter for one, wishes it would continue with its slumbering—maybe then he could as well.Peter tosses his tattered backpack into the trunk and leans against the tail-light of the car, looking at Tony. “Why do we have to go again?”
Tony glances at him as he lifts a small suitcase and places it in the trunk, closing it and leaning against the car. He smiles. “Because, we need to take a weekend as a family. I feel like I haven't seen you in months.”

Ever since Aizawa and Yamada brought home Eri, Hitoshi keeps spacing out.
One moment he's fine and present and everything is good and the next she laughs or says something or their guardians are paying her attention and Hitoshi loses time and bits of himself.
He never knows how much time has passed by the time he finds back to himself, but it's clearly not enough to be noticeable, because no one has said anything yet.
It's just one of his many creepy, annoying quirks, he's sure of it and it's no wonder that no one has noticed yet. Noticing means dealing with it and why would they, when they have their hands full with Eri these days?
Hitoshi adores her—he thinks he would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't—but he thinks he also hates her.
At the very least he's jealous of her, of the attention she's getting, of the family she's getting because her getting all of that means—he won't.
