    Blue shuffles through the tunnels with relative ease, keeping their ears trained for any sound above them. They peek out. They don’t see anyone, except for a flicker of lime in the corner of their eye-

    Oh. It’s Lime’s kit. Crouched down onto his knees he digs around in some of Polus’ snow, doing who knows what with it. Blue nearly turns around back into the vent, but doesn’t. Where’s Red? She seems to be nowhere nearby. Blue debates for just a minute before calling to the kit.

    “Hey, what’re you doing here?” Blue asks, voice quiet.

    He seems to visibly light up at the sight of them, even if they’re halfway crawled out of a vent.

    Blue encounters the crews only child on board. With his mother no longer around, and the rest of the crew not seeming competent enough to take of him, Blue takes the job. Everything else is a bonus, ones they won’t turn down.

    Faced with post-Adrian trauma and survivor's guilt, Rocky is not doing well. He becomes reliant on Grace to manage his panic and depression. Grace starts to worry about him constantly, and as a result, they become a little codependent. Grace stops sleeping in favor of being up with Rocky, who has become afraid to be alone. Eventually, the exhaustion catches up with him, and he collapses. They have to figure out a healthier way to move forward.

    title is literally one of my favorite lyrics ever, from a dessa song. :)

    Rocky stands at the entrance of the dorm.

    “Grace ok, question?”

    “…no bud. I’m not.”

    “…” Rocky seems to want to step forward, thinks better of it, then shrinks away at the admission, the ball wobbling as he takes a step back. On the far edge of the bed. Grace takes stark notice of the berth and feels cold. His fingers pluck absentmindedly at the sideseams of his shirt. “Grace upset. At Rocky, question?”

    Grace doesn’t respond right away, letting the question sink in. Rocky doesn’t push, for which he can only thank tirelessly. He can’t let himself relish in the final moments he will ever hold Rocky’s respect, not when they are so tinged with tension. He clears his throat.

    “Let me tell you a story, ok? I think it might help.”

    Or

    There’s this thing about waves: the longer they lap at wet sand, the denser it gets. And Grace is choking on sand that’s been there for years.
