This was the fifth body in just as many months that had been found in a similar situation. As much as he wasn’t a betting man, the prediction that the labs would show this victim had also had the majority of their blood systematically drained from some inconspicuous part of their body before their throat was slit was getting uncomfortably predictable.
To the police, this was a serial killer, plain and simple. Well, as plain and simple as having an active serial killer can be in one of America’s most densely populated cities. Abolish however knew better. This wasn’t a serial killer.
Well, he supposed it was, as he exited the building into the crisp evening air. But he very much doubted the NYPD really had vampires on their shortlist of suspects.

Summary
Louis was grateful about being a vampire for a lot of reasons.
First off, immortal life was pretty great. No diseases, no death haunting your step, nothing to really be scared about unless you are incredibly stupid, and Louis liked to think that he wasn’t. The strength was nice too, it helped him get out of a lot of situations, and of course the white hair was something Louis liked more than he would admit. It did suit him, but the red eyes were a hassle to hide.
But the thing he was the most grateful for when it came to his vampirism was the lack of blood and breathing, because otherwise Louis might have let out a strangled squeak as he noticed that Owen had fallen asleep in the chair beside him.

Summary
Abolish had lived alone for most of his life. It had never really bothered him, the the solitude taken less as loneliness and more as a way to get away from the annoyances of over people.
One of these other people, unfortunately, had just helped him figure out who he was and would never let him see the end of it. Shelby was nice, they really were, but the concept of leaving someone alone had never been their strong suit.
Then they were nearly killed by hunters using a silver compound on their bullets that stuck inside the vampire's body, however, Abolish had no choice but to let her into his house to monitor her recovery. Navigating the woes of having someone else (a very clingy someone) living with him wasn't something he'd ever thought he'd have to go through.or: Shelby forces Abolish to learn the value of friendship and how nice it is to not be fucking touch-starved

[“I had… depression before I was turned.” Scott admitted.
“Oh.” That didn’t seem to be the answer Owen was expecting.
“It’s why I… have blue hair, it’s why I paid someone to turn me and it’s why I loved being a vampire.” He said.
“It cured it for you.” Owen realised.
“The power made me feel alive, I could be me.” He stared at the shadows that no longer welcomed him as one of their own, instead it felt like they were closing in on him, preying on his senses and infecting his body.
“I’m surprised you reverted back.” Owen said honestly. “I didn’t regain the disease on my skin after being cured.”
Scott glanced at him. “You said your skin was irritated.”
