Summary
Danny stops for a moment just as he is about to bite something back. It took him a second to realize that he heard something different in Timmy's voice, so he just looks down without a word. He stays silent and stares at his kneeling teammate – pink clothes dirty, smooth skin covered in scratches, and expression on the sweaty face being one of anger. But the longer they stay in silence, the the easier it is for Danny to see through the little cracks. It starts with a single lip twitch, the second are suddenly stiff shoulders, and it ends with embarassed eyes escaping somewhere to the side. The more seconds pass, the easier it is for him to see the shame.
He briefly remembers that Jimmy once mentioned that tired people are much more likely to confess to anything, thus why, statistically, most heart-to-heart conversations happen at night. It takes him just that to decide that he has no reason not to believe Timmy, the boy seemed to be more honest right now than he wished to be.
Or: Danny and Timmy go on a mission, and everything goes like it always does. Besides the fact that Danny learns something about his friend that makes him change the way he views him.
